Jeff Flowers currently performs the duties of the Corporate Manufacturing Recruiter with James Hardie Building Products. My primary role is to find high potential candidates for positions within the manufacturing and engineering departments.
Jeff also is the owner of J.D. Flowers and Associates, an executive search firm that focuses on the building products industry with an emphasis on Production and Engineering Management.
Jeff’s career in the plywood & lumber industry began in January 1988, after his graduation from Texas A&M with a degree in Forestry.
While at Champion International Jeff was involved in numerous projects that focused on product and safety improvement. Jeff was praised, and criticized, for embracing out of the box thinking. To me the most important question was “why do we do it that way?” and the worst answer was “because that’s the way it’s always been done!”
The plant manager at that time wrote this about Jeff:
“Jeff was a enthusiastic member of a management team during a significant turnaround situation. He provided leadership with focus and energy for a team of first line supervisors to achieve operational and process improvements for sustainable and highly profitable results. Jeff will tackle any situation and make a valuable contribution to ethical and strong management teams.”
Jeff spent a total of 10 years in the wood industry holding managerial positions. In the summer of 1998 he transitioned into a recruiting position with Management Recruiters international, and then in 2002 he opened his own recruiting firm to allow for more freedom and flexibility of services.
Jeff is passionate about providing excellent recruiting services to his clients, and that includes the introduction of Behavioral Based assessments during the candidate selection process. I am committed to being more than “a recruiter” and to provide value based tools for my clients, and candidates.
